Crofton Elevator Claims the Trivia Title again

HARTINGTON  — The Crofton Elevator once again won the Corps of Discovery Welcome Center trivia contest.

The event was held Sunday at the United Church of Christ, Congregational Church Meeting Hall in Hartington.

The event is an annual fundraiser for the Center, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, which operates on local funding opportunities, fundraisers and donations. No tax dollars are utilized for the operation of the Welcome Center. The contest consists of ten rounds of ten questions per round with Mulligans available for purchase.

The Crofton Elevator team beat out five other teams of competitors to earn the title.

The contest included Presidential history, Nebraska history, spelling, and science and nature questions.

The CWDC celebrated its tenth anniversary this past summer and is pleased to be serving the travelers along Hwy 81 no matter what the season. The coffee pot is always on, weather advisories are available, tourist information is free and, when weather permits, a nature and bird trail is available for outdoor lovers. The gift gallery is available year round.
